Offense, Defense and Utility — allocate 30 points the way the old client did

Classic is live and uses the Season 3 mastery trees as-is — what you plan here matches the game. Mastery points come from the Classic Levels track, so the full 30 arrives as you level. Classic →

Why almost everyone runs 21/9

Thirty points, three trees, and no keystone to build a page around. Offense, Defense and Utility each hand out small percentages, and the page that wins is the one that stacks the small percentages your champion already multiplies.

Twenty-one points reach the bottom of a tree, and the bottom is where the multiplier sits. Nine into Defense buys the flat survivability that keeps a lane alive long enough to use it. That is the whole argument behind 21/9, and it is why the split shows up on carries, bruisers and junglers alike — what changes between them is which tree gets the 21, not the shape.

Every champion guide on this site shows its allocation node by node on these same trees, so you can see exactly which points a build spends rather than a page name.
