Privacy Policy
OldMeta is a free reference archive of classic League of Legends champion guides. We keep no user accounts and no user database.
What we collect
Browsing the guides requires no personal information. We do not ask you to register, and we do not operate a user database.
On the summoner search page you may voluntarily enter a Riot ID (GameName#TAG). It is sent to our server, used to make the Riot API calls described below, and discarded when the response is returned. We do not store it, write it to logs, or share it.
If you enter only a game name without a tag, we check a short list of that region’s default tags, because Riot has no endpoint that finds an account by name alone. When more than one account shares the name we show each one’s tag, summoner level and profile icon so you can pick the right one. That is public Riot ID data, it is fetched only for that request, and none of it is stored.
Riot Games API
Summoner search calls four documented Riot endpoints: Account-V1 (by-riot-id) to resolve the Riot ID to a PUUID, then Summoner-V4 for the profile, League-V4 for the ranked entry, and Match-V5 for the recent match list and each of those matches. The PUUID exists only inside that single request and is never stored or returned to your browser.
We use only these endpoints plus Data Dragon static assets. We show what Riot returns for the account you looked up. We do not compute any alternative skill, MMR or ELO rating, do not rank or compare players against each other, and do not report or rate players.
Our Riot API key is held server-side as an environment variable and is sent only in the X-Riot-Token request header. It is never exposed to the browser or included in the published site.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only if you accept on the consent banner. IP addresses are anonymised.
We use Vercel Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser.
Advertising
This site is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Ad placements are labelled and kept out of the middle of a guide so they are distinguishable from our content.
Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may use your previous visits to this and other sites to personalise them. You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings (g.co/adsettings), and third-party vendor cookies can be managed at www.aboutads.info.
Where consent is required, advertising cookies are set only after you accept on the consent banner. Clearing this site’s cookies and local storage withdraws that consent.
Third parties
Pages load static game assets from Riot Games Data Dragon, fonts from Google Fonts and jsDelivr, and are hosted on Vercel. These providers receive your IP address as a normal part of serving those requests.
Your rights
Because we store no personal data, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, export or delete. Cookies set in your own browser can be removed by you at any time.
This site is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
